The Miami (Clap Your Hands, Stomp Your Feet)

The Miami Showband killings (also called the Miami Showband Massacre), was an attack by the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF), a loyalist paramilitary group, on 31 July 1975.

It took place on the A1 road at Buskhill in County Down, Northern Ireland. Five people were killed, including three members of The Miami Showband, who were then one of Ireland’s most popular cabaret bands.

This documentary follows the band today… the live gigs backstage, the banter and lives of the surviving members of the band, friends fans and previous road managers. Northern Visions documented the travels and day-to-day stories as the band toured Ireland.

The documentary is based around the chilling event that took place at 2.30am on 31st July 1975 (The Miami Massacre) and contains a never before seen insight into the tragedy, with vintage footage and original photos of that evening. Surviving members of the band go back to the scene and walk one last time around a location that nearly ended their lives.
