Peace Train 1992

The journey didn’t go according to plan as bomb scares are received on both sides of the tracks. Interviews with those who traveled including politicians, trade unionists and the public.

Includes interviews with people on the train and Terry Carlin, who was Northern Ireland officer of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, Paddy Devlin, a former Stormont MP, a founder of the Social Democratic & Labour Party (SDLP) and a member of the 1974 Power Sharing Executive and writer and broadcast, Sam McAughtry, a trade union and Northern Ireland Labour Party member, who stood unsuccessfully for elections on a non-sectarian socialist platform. He was founding chairman of the Peace Train organisation.
